About the Master
Eric Harper, lead singer of flamenco-rock band MimosA,
began his education at the
Conservatory of Braga in Porto, Portugal. After completing his education in Europe he returned to the states and attended the Berklee College of Music; graduating with a Bachelor of Music in film, scoring “Magna Cum Laude” in just over two years.
After graduation he moved to Los Angeles to hone his skills both as a songwriter as well as
composer.
Eric was the winner of the Yamaha Young Performing Artists Award of 2000, a finalist in both the Morton Gould Composer Award of 2000 as well as the
Lennon Songwriting Competition of 2002. Eric composed, performed and appeared in commercial for
Adidas featuring internationally renowned Spanish Golfer Sergio Garcia in 2003.
Among his many credits, Eric was also the
Music Director and Composer to Nelsan Ellis' Award Winning Play "Ugly,” in 2004 and the
composer for the award-winning movie "Waiting Alone,” in 2005.
Nominated for 3 awards, including "BEST PICTURE", at the
2005 Chinese Academy Awards, "Waiting Alone" recently picked up for international distribution by Arclight Films won the 2005 Beijing Film Festival.
When Eric is not on tour with
MimosA or the Bella Canto
“Two” Festival, he can be found laboring in his recording studio
designing compositions, which are proudly presented by Amity Records.
